Greta Davis, 82, of Hart, Texas met her Lord and Savior face to face on Tuesday, December 1, 2021. A remembrance of her life will be held at 3:30PM Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the Hart Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt with Dr. Gene Meacham officiating.
Greta was born to Winton and Mae Hackler on December 4, 1938 in Springlake, Texas. She graduated high school in Cloud Chief, Oklahoma. She married the love of her life, Jimmy Ray Davis, on December 15, 1958 in Hart, Texas. Greta loved her church, community, and had many friends. She was a loved mother, wife, friend, homemaker and bookkeeper for Jimmy and Greta Davis Farms. Over the years, she was passionate about sending cards, and cooking meals for family and friends during their times of celebration and need. She had a heart of gold and was always on the go. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church, Hart, Texas. She was a member and officer for the Zealot Club, a volunteer for the Heart Golden Group, and a member of the Plainview Model A Ford Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Winton and Mae, her brothers: Bruce, Jake, Curtis, and Ed and sisters: Alice, Cathelle, and her best friend and twin sister, Reta. She is also preceded in death by a son, Michael Ray.
Greta is survived by her loving husband, Jimmy Ray, her daughter, Dianne, her daughter, Donna and husband Mike Hodges, and son, Jamey and wife Lisa Davis. The greatest joy of her life was being GG to her grandchildren: Chloe and husband Keegan Bell, Alyssa and husband Todd Borland, Casin Hodges, Emily Davis, Chelsey Davis, and Jaley Davis. She also loved experiencing the joy of a great-granddaughter, Nova Bell.
