Guy Leatherwood, 67, of Dimmitt passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014 in Dallas. Funeral services will be Tuesday, at 2:00PM at the Fourth and Bedford Church of Christ in Dimmitt with Mr. James Jones officiating, burial to follow at Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Dimmitt. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Guy was born May 20, 1947 in Ralls, Texas to James Dudley and Jessie May Stout Leatherwood. He was raised in Crosbyton and attended Crosbyton High School. He received an associate's degree in farm and ranch. He was a US Army veteran. He worked as a cowboy and bought and sold horses for many years. He married Diann Stoner on February 24, 1966 at Roosevelt Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas. He was a member of the Fourth and Bedford Church of Christ in Dimmitt. He enjoyed traveling to Ruidoso, riding and training horses, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and especially with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Diann Leatherwood of Dimmitt; a son Guy Garry Leatherwood and wife Tracie of Roanoke; 2 daughters Tammy Smith and husband Saldivar of Lubbock and Shayna Gupton and husband Kenny of Canyon; 8 grandchildren, Stormy Heller, Hagen Gupton, Skylar Smith, Lexi Gupton, Slayde Smith, Kaileh Gupton, Britnee Gupton and Kati Morrison and a great grandchild Kinsly Ferrell He is preceded in death by parents; a brother James Leatherwood, a sister Edna Stroud and three nephews Jay, Craig and Johnny Stroud.
