Houston Lust, 88, of Dimmitt passed away on May 27, 2011 in Dimmitt. Graveside Service will be held on Monday at 11:30AM in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Memorial Services following at 2:00PM in the First United Methodist Church with Rusty Dickerson, Derrel Evins and Clint Young officiating. Local arrangements are by Colonial Funeral Home. Houston was born on May 26, 1923 in Castro County, TX to Vern and Millie Lust. He has lived in the Castro County community since 1923. Houston attended West Texas College. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp on October 28, 1942 and was honorably discharged on February 14, 1946 in San Antonio, TX. He married Doris Finck on September 14, 1947 in Tulia, TX and has was a farmer for over 50 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dimmitt, he served a President for the Dimmitt Wheat Growers Board, he was a board member of the Castro County Farm Bureau, Dimmitt Consumers and Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery Association. He served on numerous committees within the First United Methodist Church and he and Doris were selected as Citizen Through the Years in 1998 by the Dimmitt Chamber of Commerce. He is survived by his spouse, Doris Lust, 2 sons, Joe Lust of Plainview, Rex Lust and wife Carol of Dimmitt, 3 daughters, Sue Summers and husband Charlie of Dimmitt, Ann Cayton and husband Keith of Mesa, Arizona, and Flo Touchstone of Lubbock 1 brother, Glen Lust and wife Barbara of Abernathy. 25 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Grace Louise Stone.
