Irene Cavazos went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at the age of 69 years old. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father David Contreras officiating on Friday, December 8, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. Burial to follow at Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt, Texas.

Irene was born on August 2, 1954, in Burnet, Texas to Antonio Hernandez Silva and Jesusa (Mora) Silva.

Irene was a long-time resident of Dimmitt. She met the love of her life, Heriberto Cavazos, and they married at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Dimmitt on August 15, 1970. She was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Church for many years. Irene loved shopping and traveling. She had a passion for decorating and her crafts. Irene always called everyone on their birthday and sang Happy Birthday to them. She enjoyed playing karaoke and loved to take the spotlight.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 53 years, Eddie Cavazos of Dimmitt, Texas; her children, Elaine Padilla of Runaway Bay, Texas, Lisa Sifuentez of Dimmitt, Texas, Erica and her husband Emilio Hernandez of Dallas, Texas, dog Pooch Cavazos of Dimmitt, Texas; her siblings, Connie and Manuel Martinez, Rosalinda Flores, Edward Silva all of Dimmitt, Texas, Wally and Carol Silva, Juanita Silva, Edward Silva, Angie and Ray Sandoval, Anita Silva, Louisa and Adam Dominguez all of Amarillo, Texas, Isabel and her husband Frank Gallardo of Slayton, Texas, Rosanne and her husband Fernando Davila of Houston, Texas, Alma Silva, Adela and her husband Mario Jacinto all of San Antonio, Texas; her grandchildren, Nathan, Brittany and Aaron, Angelica and Abdon, Cedrick and Audrey, Gavin, Jared, Lexy, Ailani; her great-grandchildren, Anayely, Au'Bree, Raylee, Ayven, Aleksandra.

She is preceded in passing by her parents, Antonio Hernandez Silva and Jesusa (Mora) Silva; her brother, Antonio Silva; her granddaughter Alayla Hernandez.
