James W. Norrell, 69, of Dimmitt passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013 in Dimmitt. James was born November 17, 1943 in Lubbock, Texas to K.R. and Renfred Bryant Norrell. James grew up in Ropesville, Texas and attended school there and at South Plains College. He married Joan Milliken on June 29, 1978 in Clovis, N.M. James was the general manager for the cotton gin in Claudine, Texas for approximately 15 years and managed several other cotton gins in the panhandle. He owned and operated J&J's Car Care from 2000-2012. James enjoyed restoring antique tractors and riding them in parades, he had a collection of antique tractors. His hobbies were camping, the mountains and enjoyed putting on big 4th of July parties, but most of all he loved seeing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the First Baptist church of Dimmitt, South Plains Tractor Association and he participated in the Antique Tractor Show in Lubbock. He is survived by his wife, Joan Norrell of Dimmitt; 5 daughters; Wanda Lawless and husband Ricky of Levelland, Becky Wright and husband Chuck of Lubbock, Kathy Kelton of Denton, Kathie Kerr and husband Charlie and Donnie O'Rand and husband Jeff all of Hereford. One sister, Brenda Snider of Florence, South Carolina; 8 grandchildren; Darren Lawless and wife Deagan, Heather Lawless, Destiny Wright, Brooke Kelton, Blake Kelton, Amber Ambold and husband Eric, Christopher Kerr and wife Sabra and Madie O'Rand and 2 great granddaughters, Keelan and Kyndall Kerr. He is preceded in death by his parents and one son, Joe Bob Henderson.
