Janie Hernandez, 61, of Hart, Texas passed away in Lubbock, Texas on Friday, September 13, 2019. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 2:00PM in the Hart Cemetery with Rev. Roger Velasquez officiating. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.
Janie Hernandez was born on June 2, 1958 to Epimnio Hernandez and Sophia (Rodriguez) Hernandez. Janie grew up in Hart, Texas and attended Hart High School. During her adult life, Janie was always known for helping others in need and for having a huge heart. She enjoyed cooking, shopping on the internet for shoes, but most of all she loved and cared for her family very much.
Janie is survived by 1 son, Chris Hernandez and wife Brandi of Edmond, OK, 2 granddaughters, Madylin Hernandez and Isabella Hernandez, 2 brothers, George Hernandez and wife Alice of Amarillo, TX and Mario Hernandez and wife Betty of Hart, TX, 3 sisters, Paula Favela of Lubbock, TX, Irene Bundy and husband (Benny) of Colorado City, TX and Ester Anthony and husband Kelly of Barnsdall, OK, nieces and nephews, Anthony Washington of Plainview, TX, Barry Washington, Deedrie Quinones, Monique Young and Eric Rivera all of Lubbock, TX.
Janie is preceded in death by her parents, Epimnio and Sophia Hernandez.
