Javier Munoz Sr.'s Obituary
Javier Munoz Sr., 72, of Olton, Texas passed away on March 19, 2018 in Lubbock, Texas. Rosary and funeral service will be on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00PM- 8:00PM with Deacon Paul Herrera officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.
Javier was born on September 7, 1945 in Durango, Mexico to Manuel Munoz and Matilda (Andreas) Munoz. Javier farmed most of his life in Sunnyside and Springlake then later moved to Olton and farmed there until his retirement. Javier was a simple man who enjoyed drinking coffee, working as a mechanic on automobiles during his spare time and catching horny-toads thinking that they were good luck. He loved to farm, but his greatest love was his family and spending time with his grandchildren.
Javier is survived by his mother, Matilda Munoz of Olton, TX, son, Javier Munoz Jr. of Big Sandy, TN, daughter, Rebecca Munoz of Tuscon, AZ, step-sons, Abel Espinosa Jr. of Hart, TX and Johnny Espinosa of Amarillo, TX, step-daughter, Candi Espinosa of Amarillo, TX, brothers, George Munoz of El Paso, TX, Armando Munoz of Olton, TX, Robert Munoz of Ft. Worth, TX and Manuel Munoz of Sanger, TX, sisters, Yolanda Velasquez of Denton, TX, Maria de Jesus Munoz of Denton, TX and Amparo Garcia of Denton, TX 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Javier is preceded in death by his father, Manuel Munoz, granddaughter, Monique R. Medrano, grandsons, Mark Anthony Espinosa and Nathaniel Paul Espinosa, sisters, Acacia Aviles and Rosario Amaya.
