Jerald McDonald, son of Bud and Beatrice (Vaught) McDonald, was born in Fruita, Colorado on August 23, 1938, and departed this life February 14, 2024, in Dimmitt, Texas, at the age of eighty-five years.

Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Jerald grew up in Fruita, Colorado and married Shirley (McMaster) McDonald on October 3, 1969.  They moved to Lubbock, Texas in 1968 and Jerald began working as a salesman in the automotive parts industry.  He also worked as an Elk hunting guide in Colorado and a race car pit crewman which he had a passion for.  After retirement he worked at Joyland Amusement Park where he loved helping all the kids.  When he was younger, he used to saddle bronc and as time went on, he enjoyed attending sporting events of his grandchildren and nephews.  He was an avid Texas Tech Fan and was one who never met a stranger.   He also loved to go to garage sales and find the best bargains and then turn around and have a garage sale of his own.  His family referred to him as the "Garage Sale King".  Jerald was loved dearly and will be missed by all.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Shirley McDonald of Dimmitt, two sons, Dusty McDonald, and wife Misty of Shallowater, TX and Cody McDonald and wife Mercy of Artesia, NM, four grandchildren, Braxton, Brody, Marlee, and Maddox, two sisters-in-law, Donna Cade, and Tami Griffitt, along with six nephews, Tanner Griffitt, Jared Griffitt, Kaden Griffitt, Brian Cade, Brad Cade, Greg Foraker and a niece, Pamela Foraker Williams.
He is preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce, and Marge along with a nephew, Steven Foraker.
