Jerry "Pampock" Durham, 83, of Dimmitt, Texas, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023, in Friona, Texas. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at the Fourth & Bedford Church of Christ, with Pastor King Burney Officiating. Burial to follow at Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.

Jerry was born on April 3, 1940, in Pettit, Texas to Charlie and Blanche (Blacksher) Durham. He graduated from Floyd High School in Floyd, New Mexico, Jerry continued his education at Eastern New Mexico University where he received a scholarship to play basketball and earned his bachelor's degree.

Jerry married his first wife Beverly Jean Durham in Causey, New Mexico on December 27, 1964, they were married 31 years before her passing on December 8, 1995. Together they had 3 children, Todd, Leslie, and Pamela Durham. Jerry and Beverly moved to Dimmitt in 1972. She worked for Dimmitt ISD and ran the Dimmitt Kids Inc. and Jerry as a teacher and coach for Dimmitt ISD until retirement. Jerry taught Math, Life Science, and Social Studies, and coached Football, Basketball, and Track. Jerry also worked in Dimmitt and surrounding communities as a home remodeler. Jerry and Beverly received the Citizens Award in 1995 and Jerry received the Friends of the Bobcats and Bobbie's award in 2002.

Jerry met his wife Karen Carter-Durham while working for the school. They were married on May 4, 2002, at Eureka Springs in Arkansas. Jerry and Karen both retired from Dimmitt ISD in 2002.

Jerry was a hard worker and took great pride in his work. He could build just about everything out of anything and was always eager to help others. He enjoyed traveling with Karen, fishing on Lake Conchas for Walleye, going to the horse races, playing blackjack in Vegas, and watching the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed keeping the scorebook for the Dimmitt High School basketball games. Jerry loved his family and was known as "Pampock" to his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memories are wife, Karen Durham of Dimmitt, Texas, son, Todd Durham and wife Jamie of Waco, Texas, daughter Leslie Durham Collar of Mississippi, daughter Jennifer Carter Howell and her husband Kennen of Boerne, Texas; grandchildren, Jason Durham, Abby Durham and fiancé Emory Weatherton, Paige Howell, Macy Howell, and Zoe Howell; great-grandchildren, Waylon Durham, Jovi Weatherton, and Journee Weatherton; and sisters, Dana Williams of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Glenda Rae Lewis of St. Louis, Missouri, and Fannie Sue Hammontree of Wyoming

He is preceded in death by his first wife Beverly Durham, daughter Pamela Elaine Durham, brothers George Durham and Marshall Durham, and a sister Charlsie Zegenfuse.
