Jim Frazier, 65, of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on February 8, 2020, in Dimmitt. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 11:00AM in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt, Texas.
Jim was born on May 4, 1954 in Hereford, Texas to G.B. Frazier Jr. and Nadine (Phillips) Frazier. Jim grew up in Dimmitt and graduated from Dimmitt High School. He met his wife Sylvia while working for a harvest crew and they married and had one daughter, Jennifer in 1982. Jim lived in many places such as Redfield, South Dakota, Plainview, Texas, and Lubbock, Texas before moving back to Dimmitt. While living in Lubbock he worked as a machinist for many years at Simmons Pump and Gould's Pump. When he returned to Dimmitt he worked for many years at the Corner Package and as a farm hand. He later worked for Merieux NutriSciences where he collected dairy samples all across the region and made many friends that became family. In 2004, his one and only grandchild was born and he became a grandpa to Kyle McCormick. Jim enjoyed fishing, barbecuing, cooking and spending time with neighbors and friends. The biggest joy in his life was spending time with his daughter Jennifer and his grandson Kyle. They enjoyed walks on the railroad tracks, cheering Kyle on at football games and track meets, and spending chilly evenings by the fire pit. Any time they were together it was amazing. He also loved his nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and Jim never met a stranger and if you were lucky enough to know him you had a friend for life.
Those left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Jennifer Frazier of Lubbock, Texas, one grandson, Kyle McCormick of Lubbock and three brothers, Larry D. Gamble of Houston, Texas, Garland R. Frazier of Farmington, New Mexico and James M. Frazier of Benkelman, Nebraska.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents.
