Joanne Lacy passed away peacefully on July 19, 2023, in the Angel Room at Country View Living in Dimmitt, Texas.  A Graveside Service will be on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Hart Cemetery in Hart, Texas at 10:30: A.M., officiated by Pastor Russ Panzer.

Joanne was born on June 30, 1933, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Denton and Margaret Cantrell.  She was an only child and graduated from East Nashville High School.
Joanne met Darrell Lacy in Nashville while he was stationed at Arnold Air Force Base.  They were married on June 13, 1951.  After Darrell's discharge from the service, they moved to the Texas Panhandle, where they farmed and raised a family.
Joanne enjoyed family vacations to Nashville, spending time in the kitchen cooking for the Hart Golden Group and her family and participating in girls' trips to Oklahoma.  In 2019 Joanne moved into the Birch Villas in Nazareth, where she met some wonderful friends.  She was an avid reader who frequented the community library, participated in many bingo games, and loved sitting outside with a good cup of coffee.
Joanne was preceded in death by her husband Darrell in 2012.  She is survived by her four children, Lisa and husband Clyde Schulte of Nazareth, Texas; Darrell Jr., and wife Starla Lacy of Las Vegas, Nevada; Denny and wife Valerie Lacy of Cypress, Texas; and Daniel and wife Heather Lacy of Katy, Texas.  She was a beloved GiGi with nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two great-great-granddaughters.
A short graveside service will be held later in the summer for the family.
In place of flowers, the family requests donations to the Nazareth Community Library, PO Box 183, Nazareth, Texas 79063 to honor Joanne's love of reading.
