Jose Flores Najera, 83, of Dimmitt, Texas passed away peacefully on Friday, March 12, 2021 with his family by his side. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 10:30AM in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Arockiaraj Malapady, Deacon John Niño and Deacon Richard Martinez as celebrants. Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Rosary/Vigil will be held on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 6:00PM in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel.
Jose Flores was born on March 14, 1937 in Valle de Zaragoza Chihuahua, Mexico to Francisco Flores and Juana (Najera) Flores. Jose married Maria Luisa Flores on January 9, 1960. Jose enjoyed being around horses, attending horse races and being with loved ones, but most of all he enjoyed and loved the time he spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be remembered for his love to others, his hardwork and his good advice.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Maria Luisa Flores of Dimmitt, TX, children, Alicia Lozoya and husband Jorge Luis Lozoya of Santa Fe, NM, Jose Luis Flores and wife Irma Flores of Dimmitt, TX, Felipe Flores and wife Maricela Flores of Dimmitt, TX, Guadalupe Benavente and husband Miguel Angel Benavente of Santa Fe, NM, Omar Flores and wife Angelina Flores of Dimmitt, TX and Sandra Castillo and husband Gerardo Castillo of Dimmitt, TX, 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Jose Flores is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Maria Angelica Flores.
