Joyce Elizabeth Davis, 76, of Dimmitt passed away on Monday, May 25, 2015 in Dimmitt. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2:00 PM at the Fourth and Bedford Church of Christ in Dimmitt with Mr. James Jones officiating, burial to follow at Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Family and friend visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00PM at the funeral home. Joyce was born September 16, 1938 in Brady, Texas to Alfred and Leatrice Bagley. She graduated from Kress High School in 1956. She married Duward Davis on August 4, 1957 in Kress, shortly after their marriage they moved to Tulia, where all three children were born. Joyce and Duward made Tulia their home for ten years, then moving to Dimmitt in 1969. She was the bookkeeper for the local Ford Houses for over 25 years until their closing, moving her to Hereford to the Ford House and Chevrolet Dealership until her retirement. Joyce was a member of the Fourth and Bedford Church of Christ, Ogallala Quilters Society, Friendship Quilters Guild, Fair Board Association, Senior Citizens and she was the Dimmitt Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year in 2004. Joyce enjoyed quilting, gardening and doing for others, but she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Joyce is survived by her husband, Duward Davis of Dimmitt; one son Kelly Davis and his wife RexAnne of Weatherford; one daughter Lisa Mixson and her husband Terry of Dimmitt; four grandchildren Meagan Gantzler and husband Jeff of Williston, ND; Makenzie Cottingham and husband Marshall of Williston, ND.; Callen Buckley of Dimmitt and Amy Davis of Weatherford; 5 great grandchildren Joel and Paige Gantzler, Hudson and Hagen Buckley and Maddox Cottingham; one brother-in-law Clifford Davis and his wife Becky of Plainview and a sister-in-law Pam Bagley of Desoto. She is preceded in death by her parents, a son Don Allen Davis; a brother Tom Bagley and a grandson-in-law Deacon Buckley.
