Kim J. Drerup, 51, of Nazareth, Texas passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018 in Dimmitt, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 10:00AM in the Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Bhaskar Adusupalli and Deacon Bob Birkenfeld as celebrants. Burial will follow in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home.
Kim J. Drerup was born on August 5, 1967 in Dimmitt, Texas to Joe Drerup and Imogene (Huseman) Drerup. Kim grew up in Nazareth and graduated from Nazareth High School and then attended Amarillo College. Kim worked as a truck driver hauling cattle along with making boots and saddles for many years. Kim was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church, member of Castro County 4-H while receiving the 2006 "Distinguished Leader Award", member of AQHA and NRHA while also serving as a member of the Nazareth Volunteer Fire Department as a fireman and EMT. Kim loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews.
Kim is survived by his mother, Imogene Drerup of Nazareth, 1 brother, Wade Drerup and wife Julie of Midlothian, Texas, 2 sisters, Tammy Drerup of Humble, Texas and Tracy Ramsey and husband Bryan of Nazareth, Texas, 5 nieces and nephews along with 1 great-nephew.
Kim is preceded in death by his father, Joe Drerup and 1 brother, Stanley Drerup.
