Leland Jennings, 71, of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022, in Lubbock, Texas. Graveside Service will be on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. at Bovina Cemetery in Bovina, Texas with Reverend TC Broom officiating. Arrangements and Services have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt, Texas. A viewing will be held on Monday, February 21, 2022, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Leland was born on October 16, 1950, to Loyd and Mildred (Newman) Jennings in Morton, Texas. He married Vickie (Kunselman) Jennings on August 23, 1974. They have resided in the Castro County area since 1979. Leland worked various jobs in agriculture and for the Castro County Maintenance Department from 2005 till retirement. In his younger days he was a volunteer fireman for the Bovina Fire Department.  Leland was a jack of all trades and was good at fixing things.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting but most of all time spent with his family, his grandchildren, and time spent at home. He loved his family dearly and was very protective of them, especially the kids.

Leland is survived by his wife, Vickie Jennings of Dimmitt, Texas; son, Drue Jennings and his wife Mitzi of Littlefield, Texas; grandchildren, Craig and Cydney Jennings; brothers, Melvin Jennings of Levelland, Texas and Dalton Jennings and his wife Cindy of Plainview, Texas; sisters, Jimmie Beavers and her husband Jim of Lubbock, Texas and May Domany and her husband John of Slaton, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Mildred Jennings; son, Chad Jennings; and a baby sister.
