Lenora "Alice" Bruton, 91, of Dimmitt, passed away Monday, March 29, 2016 in Dimmitt. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. T.C. Broom officiating burial to follow at Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Colonial Funeral of Dimmitt. Family and friend visitation will be Wednesday evening at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00PM.

Alice was born August 19, 1924 in Ponotoc County, Oklahoma to Daniel and Bertha (McGee) Summers. She has been a resident of Castro County since 1946. In her younger years she was very active in the community; she taught sewing to the younger children, she was a member of the garden club, member of the home demonstration club and worked in numerous retail department stores. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, painting, gardening and needle work.

She is survived by her step-son Danny Bruton of Dimmitt, a step grandson Kevin Bruton and wife Krissy of Dimmitt; two step-great grandchildren Klancy & Kreed both of Dimmitt; two sisters Ida Arms of Goldsby, Oklahoma and Betty Williams of Quanah, Texas and multiple nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dan Bruton, four brothers Jess Underwood, Charlie Summers, Ray Summers and Roy Summers; two sisters Flora Nuner and Aline Kirby.
