Leopaldo Medrano, 89, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021 in Amarillo. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Arockiaraj Malapady, Father Arthuro Mesa, Deacon John Niño and Deacon Richard Martinez as celebrants. Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Viewing will begin Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 3:30 PM with rosary being recited at 5:30 PM.

Leopaldo was born April 25, 1931 in Cruces, Namiquipa, Chihuahua, Mexico to Guadalupe and Bersave (Vargas) Medrano. He had spent 69 wonderful years of marriage to his wife Evangelina Chacón. Leopaldo owned his own farm in Mexico where he raised cows, pigs, horses, and chickens. He also enjoyed working in his garden, growing flowers, and was a very tidy person. He loved to sing, dance, go for car rides, drink coca-cola, coffee and eat bean burritos. Leopaldo was sure to leave everyone with a smile. He will be greatly missed by many.

Those left cherish his memories are his 10 children, Elva Medrano and husband Hisidro Chavez of Mexico, Olaya Medrano, Florentino Medrano and wife Teresa Villela of Dimmitt, Hilda Medrano, Dolores Medrano and husband Fidel Chavira, Lilia Medrano and husband Ricardo Alvarez, Leopoldo Medrano, Jr. and wife Ana Berta Vazquez, Ana Medrano, Elsa Medrano and husband Oscar Anaya, Socorro Medrano and husband Valentine Rodriguez all of Amarillo, 29 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, his parents, 4 sisters and 4 brothers.

Leopaldo era dueño de su propia granja en México donde criaba vacas, cerdos, caballos y pollos. También disfrutaba trabajar en su jardín, cultivar flores y era una persona muy ordenada. Le encantaba cantar, bailar, pasear en automóvil, beber coca-cola, café y comer burritos de frijoles. Leopaldo estaba seguro de dejar a todos con una sonrisa. Muchos lo extrañarán mucho.

Los que atesoran sus recuerdos son sus 10 de familia, Elva Medrano, y su esposo Hisidro Chávez de México, Olaya Medrano, Florentino Medrano y esposa Teresa Villela de Dimmitt, Hilda Medrano, Dolores Medrano y esposo Fidel Chavira, Lilia Medrano y esposo Ricardo Alvarez, Leopoldo. Medrano, Jr. y esposa Ana Berta Vázquez, Ana Medrano, Elsa Medrano y esposo Oscar Anaya, Socorro Medrano y esposo Valentine Rodríguez todos de Amarillo, 29 nietos y 38 bisnietos.

Le precedieron en la muerte su esposa, sus padres, 4 hermanas y 4 hermanos.
