Lewis “Papa” Jordan, 84, of Dimmitt, Texas, passed away in Dimmitt on Saturday, October 31, 2026. Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel in Dimmitt, with Dr. Jonathan Sullivan of First Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements and Cremation Services have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt, Texas.
Born January 17, 1942, in Wichita Falls, Texas, Lewis was the son of Lewis Weldon Jordan and Clara (Shirley) Jordan.
On May 29, 2010, he married Kathy Wright in Lubbock, Texas, at the same church where his brother, Joe Jordan, had introduced them.
Lewis retired after 25 years at Rafter 3, where he loved his work. A true gentleman, he treasured his family and believed in hard work.
For 84 years, Lewis lived a life filled with hard work, love, and unforgettable memories. He was a true country man who believed in working hard, taking care of his family, and enjoying the simple things in life.
He spent his days working at the feedyard, operating a loader, and showing everyone what dedication and hard work truly meant.
He loved listening to George Strait, cheering on his Dallas Cowboys, and enjoying the country life. But above all, his greatest love was his family, especially his grandchildren. They held a special place in his heart, and the love he had for them was something that could never be replaced.
He may not have been a man of fancy things, but he left behind something far more valuable – a lifetime of memories, lessons, laughter, and love.
Papa, your work here on earth is done. Your hands can finally rest, but the love you planted in our hearts will continue to grow for generations.
Until we meet again, our cowboy. We love you forever.
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
Those left to carry on his legacy are his wife Kathy Jordan of Dimmitt, Texas; children, Billy Jordan and his wife Sybil of Senora, Texas, Debbie Sears of Lubbock, Texas, and Eddie Jordan and his wife Kelly of Vancleave, Mississippi; stepdaughters, Marla Wright of Eastland, Texas and Shae Rodriguez of Tahoka, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren, sister Cindy Cofield and her husband Keith of Lubbock, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents Lewis and Clara Jordan; his brothers, Jackie Jordan, Lennard Jordan, and Joe Jordan; and his sisters Betty Duncan, Reba Jordan, and Tammy Cornwall.
