Louie Porsch, age 83, of Dimmitt passed away Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016 in Amarillo. Memorial services will Tuesday at the Cal Farley's Boys Ranch Chapel in Amarillo at 3:00 PM with Pastor Mike Wilhelm officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.

Louie was born on September 9, 1933 in Slaton, Texas to Walter and Erie Payton Porsch. He married Suzie Porsch on March 25, 1961. He farmed in Slaton for many years and also in Texline from the 70s-80s. He later went to work for Poole Chemical in Texline until his retirement; after his wife, Suzie, passed away in 2009 Louie moved to Dimmitt to be close to his son living there for five years, then needing a change he moved to Altus, Ok. to be with his daughter for two years. Louie returned to Dimmitt just shortly before his death. Louie's hobbies were fishing and camping.

Louie is survived by two sons, Willie Porsch and wife Brenda of Dimmitt and Tracy Porsch of Amarillo and one daughter, Nancy Porsch Herring of Altus, Ok.; eight grandchildren, Jake Porsch, Tyke Porsch, Landon Porsch, Amanda Taylor, Laramee Herring, Dillon Herring, Skylie Hegdal and Logan Hegdal and three great grandchildren, Cynthia Taylor, Aliyah Taylor and Eian Ince and a lifetime friend Mae Schwertner.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Suzie, a daughter, Cindy Hegdal, a granddaughter, Kami Porsch, two sisters and a brother
