Luciano "Chano" Quiroz, age 80, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, in Dimmitt, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 7, 1946, in Juárez y Reforma to Narciso Quiroz and Natividad Estrada.

Luciano married the love of his life, Rosario Quiroz, on September 3, 1968, in Guadalupe D.B., Chihuahua, Mexico. In 1979, they migrated to the United States and made Dimmitt, Texas, their home, where they resided for 49 years.

He was a member of the Spanish Church of Christ in Dimmitt, Texas, where he worshiped for 39 years. Luciano was a devoted family man, blessed with six children—two daughters and four sons—who were the pride and joy of his life.

A hardworking and dedicated provider, Luciano spent 22 years working for Buckley Farms before becoming self-employed. He later continued his career working through Rafter 3 for 15 years, retiring in 2020. His strong work ethic, dependability, and integrity were well known and deeply respected.

In his free time, Luciano enjoyed traveling, especially to El Paso, which held a special place in his heart. He loved visiting casinos, spending time with his family, and was often known to stop by local convenience stores to enjoy scratch-off tickets. A die-hard Texas Rangers fan, he loved sports beyond watching—he proudly coached his grandchildren and supported them wholeheartedly, leaving a lasting impact both on and off the field. Some of his most cherished moments were spent playing golf with his sons and watching his son, Jesus, coach baseball—moments filled with pride, laughter, and love. Above all else, family meant everything to Luciano. He will be remembered for his devotion, kindness, and the many memories he created, which will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

He is survived by his children; sons,  Narciso Quiroz and his wife Laura of Dimmit, TX, Jesus Quiroz of Dimmitt, TX, Luciano Quiroz Jr. (Stephanie) of Dimmitt, TX, Adam Quiroz and his wife Susie of Canyon, TX; daughters, Luz M. Piñon and her husband Luis of Plainview, TX, Betty Quiroz of Dimmitt, TX, Angelica Esquivel and her husband Andres of Dimmitt, TX; 21 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sister Celia Quiroz; brothers, Marcelo Estrada, Jacinto Quiroz, and Jesus Quiroz; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, Narciso and Natividad Quiroz, wife Rosario Quiroz, grandson Josue "Josh" Quiroz, great-grandson Alexander Noel Piñon, daughter-in-law Nora Quiroz, sisters Benita Quiroz Chuca and Hermelinda Quiroz Elias, and brother Jose (Chepo) Quiroz.

Celebration of Life Service honoring Luciano will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Fourth & Bedford Church of Christ in Dimmitt, Texas. Burial will follow at Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Dimmitt under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home with a Prayer Service beginning at 5:30 PM.
