Mae Ella Willis, 93, of Dimmitt, Texas, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023, in Dimmitt. Cremation Services have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home.

Mae was born on November 1, 1929, in Palestine, Texas to Prince Garfield and Sarah Elizabeth (Thomas) Cornelius. Mae lived in Alto, Texas for many years before moving to Dimmitt in 2019 to be near family. She enjoyed the outdoors, exploring the woods, fishing, and canning. She loved to stay busy and always looked for an opportunity to get up and go and if you were staying with her, you had better be ready too. Mae was a great cook. She was a faithful Church of Christ Member through and through and it was always, Mae's Way.

She is survived by her niece Mary Ward of Dimmitt, Texas; two nieces that she raised as her own, Nadine Jenkins and Joyce Baker; great nieces and nephew, Tina Ward and husband Mike, Danny Ward, and Prince Michael G Ward;10 great-great nieces and nephews; a brother James Willie Cornelius; and many more loving family members.

She is preceded in death by her husband Eugene Willis, sisters, Mary Martinez and Martha Jenkins, brother George Cornelius, and nephew Henry Baker, Jr.
