Manuel Herrera, 74, of Dimmitt passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017 in Dimmitt. Visitation will be held, Friday, February 3, 2017 from 9 to 5 PM., with the Rosary Service beginning at 3:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 11:30 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Dimmitt with Rev. Raj Arockia and Deacon John Nino officiating.  Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.

Manuel was born March 11, 1942 in San Ignacio, Mexico to Manuel and Maria Elena (Castaneda) Herrera. He married Irma Briones in 1963. He worked as an auto mechanic and farmed in the Olton Area until his retirement in 2007.  Manuel loved spending time with his family, watching soccer and meeting people.

Manuel was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son; Manuel Herrera, a sister; Carmen Herrera Rayonez, and two brothers; Raul Herrera and Enrique Herrera.

Those left to cherish Manuel's memory are his four daughters; Marisela Herrera Cruz and husband Jose, Neyda Herrera Flores and husband, Adan all of Olton, Maria Elena Herrera of Dimmitt and Angelica Herrera and husband, Manuel of Hereford, a sister; Martha Herrera Barraza of Sunland Park, New Mexico, two brothers; Reynaldo Herrera and wife, Leticia of Juarez, Mexico and Rojelio Herrera and wife Juanita of Zaragoza, Mexico, 21 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
