Manuel Soto, 55, of Dimmitt passed away on December 12, 2012 in Dimmitt. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 17, 2012 at 10:00AM in Immaculate Conception of Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Ravi as celebrant. Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM on Sunday in the church. Manuel was born on November 25, 1957 in Mexico to Juaquin and Cleofas Gonzales Soto. He grew up in Mexico and came to the United States when he was 20 years old. He married Esperanza Gomez in 1975 in Mexico. Manuel had been a resident of Dimmitt since 1994. He worked as a farmer, he enjoyed spending time with his horses and watching horse races. Manuel also enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered as always being the life of the party. Manuel is survived by his wife, Esperanza Soto of Dimmitt, his mother, Cleofas Gonzales of Washington, 1 son, Manuel Soto Jr. of Dimmitt, 4 daughters, Lulu Alanis, Sulema Morales, and Marisol Soto all of Dimmitt and Judy Soto of Hereford, 3 brothers, Arturo Soto of El Paso, Simon Soto of California, and Hernando Soto of Mexico, 7 sisters, Isidora Morales and Irene Prieto both of Mexico, Kika Soto, Esther Soto, and Sandra Soto all of Wisconsin, Bertha Morales and Mary Lou Soto both of Washington, 11 grandchildren He was preceded in death by his father, Juaquin Soto.
