Marcelino Galvan, 79, of Hart, Texas passed away on December 23, 2020 in Lubbock, Texas.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 10:30AM in St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Arockiaraj Malapady, Deacon John Niño and Deacon Richard Martinez as celebrants. Burial will follow in Hart Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Rosary/Vigil will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2020 starting at 6:00PM at the church.
Marcelino Galvan was born on June 2, 1941 in Sarabia DB, Chihuahua, Mexico to Pablo Galvan and Josefina (Castro) Galvan. Marcelino came into the United States as a brasero to work in the agricultural industry. Marcelino married Guadalupe (Orona) Galvan in 1963 where they had eight children together. She passed away in 1977. He then married Rosa (Rocha) Galvan in 1979 and she had one son who became part of the family. Marcelino moved to Hart, Texas in 1985 where he worked as a farmer until his retirement in 2006.
Marcelino served as President of the Sacred Heart Association of St. John Catholic Church for 3 years, he was a member of the "Cursillistas" of the Amarillo Diocese and a proud guitar musician where he played numerous times for the church. But most of all he will be remembered by the time he spent with family and the love he had for his family.
Marcelino is survived by his wife, Rosa Galvan of Hart, 9 children, Jose Galvan of Arlington, Cecilia Galvan of Mexico, Eustacio Galvan, Josefina Avila, Guadalupe Morales all of Hart, Carmen Zapata of Hesperia, CA, Maria Medrano of Slaton, Jesus Galvan of Brownwood and Rafael Rocha of Estelline, I sister, Zita Rivera of Hart, 33 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
Marcelino is preceded in death by his parents, spouse, Guadalupe Galvan, along with 2 brothers, 2 sisters and 1 grandson.
