Margaret Rose Collins Taylor, 92, of Earth, Texas passed away Sunday, December 25, 2016 in Plainview. Funeral services will be Friday, December 30, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel in Dimmitt, Texas with burial to follow at Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Family and friend visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00 -7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Margaret was born September 17, 1924 in Montague, Texas to Henry and Bessie (Zahn) Scheller. Margaret moved to southwest Castro County and the Dodd and Flagg Community in the late 1930's early 40's. Margaret married Forrest Collins in 1940 and together they lived and farmed in the Dodd and Flagg community. In 1958-59 Margaret decided to work outside of the home and went to work for the Flagg Cotton Gin and worked there for 4 years. Shortly after her employment there she began working for the Flagg Grain Elevator as their secretary and bookkeeper and stayed there for 22 years; during this time her husband, Forrest passed away in 1982. Five years later Margaret met Jess Taylor and they married in 1987. They moved to Earth in 2004 making this their home. In 2013 Jess passed away. Margaret always enjoyed being the "Boss", crocheting, knitting, traveling when Jess was still living and gardening.

She is survived by her only two sons, Leon Collins and his wife Patti and Johnny Collins and his wife Linda all of Earth. One sister, Elaine Wright and her husband Charles of Wichita Falls; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Forrest Collins in 1982, her second husband, Jess Taylor in 2013, six brothers, H.L., Eugene, Marvin, Melvin and Charles Scheller, two sisters, Virginia Taylor and Mable Weason.
