Margie Ray, 89, of Hart passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 in Olton. Margie was born on April 28, 1924 in Archer County, Texas to Frank Ellis and Martha Willis Ellis. Margie has lived in the Castro County community for over 58 years. She was very instrumental in starting the Senior Citizens Group and also contributed in writing the grant for the group which she was very active in. She worked as the church secretary and also worked for the First State Bank of Hart. Margie loved to paint, baking pies and cakes, gardening and working in her flower beds. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Hart. She is survived by 1 son, Clifford Ray and wife Debbie of Midland, 3 grandchildren, Sharlie Ray of Odessa, Lori Hollum and husband Carl of Granbury, and Jessica Nolan and husband Stacey of Borger, 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, Bonnie Sutton, Patsy Sutton and Bernice Gray. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made to the Hart Cemetery Association, PO Box 215, Hart, TX 79043.
