Maria Adulia Martinez Davila, 66, of Dimmitt passed away on Friday, January 13, in Dimmitt. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 2:00PM in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Maria, also known as Lula, was born on December 20, 1945 in Carrizo Springs, Texas to Isabel and Josephina Martinez. She was a current resident of Dimmitt and a former resident of Friona, TX. Maria was a teacher's aide at Friona Elementary, a cook at Prairie Acres in Friona, a Sunday school teacher, a dedicated foster parent and a home schooler. She enjoyed canning, gardening, crossword puzzles, she held a secret desire to paint and draw. She also loved sewing and she blessed those around her with her infectious smile and laughter. She is beloved by all those that had the opportunity to meet and get to know her and although she will be sorely missed, her memory will live on in our hearts and lives of those that she touched. Maria is survived by 12 children, Erin Rios, David Davila Jr., Robert Davila, Dee Dee Davila, Gilbert Davila, Victoria Duran, Michael Davila, Marie Samarron, Christopher Davila, Leander Davila,, Stacy Davila and Vennisa Davila. Seven brothers and sisters, Santos Martinez, Mandy Garibaldi, Janie Martinez, Mary Guzman, Rosie Cantu, David Martinez, and Johnny Joe Martinez. 26 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Isabel and Josephina Martinez
