Maria Epifania Acevedo Fuller, 65, of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on Monday, June 3, 2019 in Dimmitt, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 10:00AM in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Lupe Mayorga, Deacon John Niño and Deacon Richard Martinez as celebrants. Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 6:30PM with vigil service to follow at 7:00PM at the church.
Maria Fuller was born on February 2, 1954 in Georgetown, Texas to Julian Rojas Acevedo Sr. and Edith (Rollins) Acevedo. Maria moved to Dimmitt with her parents and siblings at the age of 3. She attended public schools in Dimmitt and graduated in 1973 and later attended Amarillo College. Maria was a very active and devoted Catholic and attended 3 years of CCD training to get certified. She then taught CCD classes for the young children and was also an official director of the RCIA program. She was also a very active member of the Legion of Mary and was currently the President of the presidium while also serving as Vice President of the Curia. In her younger years, she worked for the Post Office and was currently working with the Helping Hands in Dimmitt. Maria enjoyed helping and training individuals so that they could pass their GED.
Those left behind to cherish her memories are her 4 children, Michael Acevedo and wife Marsha of Abernathy, TX, Doyle Fuller and wife Belinda of Broken Arrow, OK, Edith Fuller of Dimmitt, TX and A.J Fuller of Dimmitt, TX, brothers, Julian Acevedo Jr. and wife Patsy of San Antonio, TX, Ace Acevedo and wife Lori of Minot, ND, Robert Acevedo and wife Gracie of Olmito, TX and Albert Acevedo of Dimmitt, TX, sister, Mary Helen Flores of Dimmitt, TX, 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
Maria is preceded in death by her parents, Julian Acevedo Sr. and Edith Acevedo, brother-in-law, Marcello Flores.
