Maria Luisa Garcia, 41, of Amarillo, TX, formerly of Dimmitt, TX, died on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in Amarillo, TX. Prayer Vigil will be recited at 6:00 PM on Friday, Sept 18, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Dimmitt, TX. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Reverend Raj Arockia, Celebrant. Burial will be at Castro Memorial Gardens in Dimmitt, TX. Arrangements by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt, TX. Maria Luisa Garcia was born on July 22, 1974 in Dimmitt, Texas to Rafael and Margaret (Jaso) Guajardo. Maria was united with J. J. Martinez in 2005. She graduated from Dimmit High School and attended Amarillo College where she received her licensed vocational nurse degree in 2005. Maria was employed at Plains Memorial Hospital in Dimmitt, Muleshoe Area Medical Center in Muleshoe, TX, and was a traveling nurse in Amarillo, for different nursing homes in the area. Her hobbies included watching television, her favorites were her novellas (Spanish soap operas), The Voice, and American Idol, and taking care of her special plant.
