Maria Estella Rodriguez Leyva, 65, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011in Amarillo. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, March 7, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Immaculate Conception of Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Lupe Mayorga officiating. Burial to follow at Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Rosary will be recited on Sunday at 6:00PM at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Maria was born on April 10, 1945 to Jose and Isabell Rodriguez in Dimmitt. She lived all of her life in Dimmitt and was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing Bingo and most of all she was a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by 5 sons, David Dones of Manclova, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Danny Dones, Raul Dones, Raymond Dones, and Johnny Joe Rodriguez all of Dimmitt; 1 daughter Irene Beliz of Lazbuddie; 2 brothers, Maurilio Rodriguez of Hereford, and Frank Rodriguez of Sunray; 4 sisters, Martina Moreno, Janie Valdez, and Lupita Rodriguez all of Dalhart, and Margaret Hernandez of Albuquerque, NM, 20 grandchildren, Jessica Ramirez, Daniel Dones, Priscilla Dones, Jason Dones, Betty Jo Oltivero, Jose Beliz, Laura Beliz, Mari Beliz, Suzanne Dones, Sue Ellen Ontiveros, Oscar Lee Dones, Amy Dones, Raul Dones, Jr., Mark Melendez, George Dones, Krystal Torres, Johnny Ray Dones, Omar Dones and Israel Dones and 28 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by both parents, 1 son George Dones, 1 brother, Jose Angel Rodriguez, 1 sister Carmen Ruiz, and 1 grandchild Sergeant Jacob Dan Dones
