Maria "Dalia" Peralez, 76, of Dimmitt passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 in Dimmitt. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church of Dimmitt with Rev. T.C. Broom officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Family and friend visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00-8:00PM at the funeral home.

Dalia was born April 1, 1941 in Mission, Texas to Sabino and Domitila (Trevino) Soto. Dalia has been a resident of Dimmitt for 52 years. She married Arnold Peralez, Sr. on September 5, 1965 in Mission, Texas. She worked for Rhodes Memorial Library as a custodian for over 20 years and she was also employed with the Dimmitt Independent School District for several years; and for the Castro County News. Dalia was a housekeeper for various families in Dimmitt. She was a member of The First United Methodist Church, the Methodist Woman's Group and the Betty Campbell Circle. She enjoyed listening to Bobcat sporting events, working in her yard, she loved to plant flowers and she enjoyed being outdoors. Dalia loved helping others and volunteering her time to her community, but above all this her true love was spending time with her family, her children and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Arnold Peralez, Sr. of Dimmitt, and her children, David Peralez of Dimmitt, Arnold Peralez, Jr. and his wife Gina of Borger, Diane Reynolds and Jorge Rodriguez and Debbie Peralez Reagan and her husband John all of Lubbock; 6 sisters, Flora Flores, Carolina Bocanegra, Paulita Mercado all of Mission, Texas, Julia Echartea and her husband Lalo of Elkhart, Indiana, Isabel Rodriguez and her husband Valentin of McAllen and Estela Soto Lopez of Mexico and 2 brothers, Jose "Pepe" Soto and his wife Christine of McAllen and Juan Soto and his wife Sylvia of Mission, Texas, a brother-in-law, Ruben Peralez of Dimmitt and a sister-in-law, Hilda Rendon and her husband Raul of Harlingen; 7 grandchildren, Allen Peralez of Mustang, OK., Malcolm Reynolds, Kalen Reynolds, Maddison Reynolds all of Lubbock, Cody Peralez of Littlefield, Kelby Peralez of Borger and Kensli Peralez of Borger.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Nieves Guajardo and Norma Cerda, two brothers, Sabino Soto, Jr. and Jose T. Soto.
