Maria Eva Sanchez, 61, of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021 in Amarillo, Texas.

Eva was born September 17, 1960 in Plainview, Texas to Celestino and Andrea (Martinez) Gonzales. She met the love of her life Selso Leyja in Hart 30 years ago which she has now joined in heaven after only 7 month of losing him.. Eva was a homemaker and did whatever she could to make sure her family was well taken care of. She had the biggest heart always giving to those in need even if it meant she went without. She loved cooking her famous menudo and make tortillas for all to eat. She enjoyed having family over to visit her, the more the merrier! She will be greatly missed by many.
Those left to cherish her memories are her two daughters, Cynthia Bermea and husband Rey of Nazareth, Mary Sanchez of Plainview, her five sons, Jamie Sanchez and wife Emily of Conroe, Joe Sanchez of Plainview, Billy Sanchez of Olton, Tony Sanchez and wife Griselda of Killeen, Louis Gonzales of Amarillo, three sisters, Sandy Vargas of Dimmitt, Estella García and Martina Gonzales of San Antonio, two brothers, Enrique Gonzales of San Antonio, Celestino Gonzales Jr of Bryan, 23 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Eva is preceded in death by her husband, Selso Leyja, her parents Celestino and Andrea Gonzales, three brothers, Esteban, Andres, and Arnold Gonzales.
