Mary Lou Lumbrera, 68, of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2014 in Lubbock, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:30AM in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Raj Arockia and Deacon John Nino as celebrants. Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 6:00PM in the funeral home with vigil service to follow. Mary Lou was born on September 12, 1946 in Bertram, Texas to Miguel Acevedo, Sr. and Ricarda Cadena Acevedo. She was raised in Springlake-Earth and graduated from Springlake-Earth High School. She married Chevo Lumbrera in 1970 and they resided in Castro County. Mary Lou was very active within Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and St. Teresa's. She built a good business with Avon through the years. She was an avid fan of the Springlake-Earth Wolverines and the San Antonio Spurs. Mary Lou enjoyed working in her garden and spending quality time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Chevo Lumbrera of Dimmitt, 2 daughters, Mary Jane Ritchey and husband Eric of Lubbock, Belle Lumbrera of Dimmitt and 1 son, Mark Lumbrera and wife Monica of Dimmitt, 3 brothers, Miguel Acevedo Jr. of Lubbock, Joe Acevedo of Littlefield, and Lupe Acevedo of Muleshoe, 3 sisters, Elisa Moreno of Lubbock, Alice Aguilar of Dimmitt, and Rosemary Monreal of Earth, 1 grandson, Vicente "Gage" Rodriguez of Dimmitt. Mary Lou is preceded in death by her parents, and 1 brother, Pete Acevedo. Memorials may be made to St. Teresa's, c/o Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1001 W.
