Matilde Martinez Trejo, 92, of Mexico passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in Dimmitt. Mrs. Martinez will be having services in Hildago, Mexico at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.

Matilde was born April 14, 1925 in La Cebolla, Hildago, Mexico to Mariano Martinez Maldonado and Concepcion Trejo Barron. She was a resident of Mexico all her life. Matilde enjoyed taking care of her animals which were her chickens and donkeys and she also enjoyed gardening. Matilde was known for making her own "Pulke" and everyone in Mexico loved it; but above all this her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Catalina Lugo of North Carolina, Avelia Lugo and Juana Lugo both of Mexico and Juan Lugo and Joel Lugo both of Dimmitt; sixteen grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Flavio, Fellimon and Rafael Martinez and a sister, Carolina Martinez all of Mexico.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Adolfo Lugo, six children, one sister and one brother.
