Melissa "Missy" Garcia, 49, of Dimmitt, Texas, formally of Hereford, Texas passed away and joined her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, in Dimmitt.
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 10:30AM at Living Water Family Church located at 210 Halsell St., Dimmitt, Texas, with Pastor Oscar Mendoza and Pastor Mace Saenz officiating with arrangements being under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.   The family will receive friends on Monday, August 26, 2024, from 3:00PM – 7:00PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 809, Butler, Blvd., Dimmitt, Texas.
Missy was born in Pearsall, Texas to Celestino Garcia and Estella (Reyes) Garcia on October 7, 1974.  She was raised in Hereford and graduated from Randall High School in 1993.  She worked for G2G Irrigation for 17 years.  Missy was a very active and longtime member of Living Water Family Church.  She paid special attention to the youth ministry and to the worship team.  She loved to spend time with family and friends and trying out new restaurants.   She will always be remembered by her love and affection towards others and the faithfulness she had for her Lord Jesus Christ.
Those left behind to cherish her memories is her father, Celestino Garcia of Louisiana, sister, Jessica Garcia of Hereford, 4 nieces, Hopie Fernandez of Amarillo, Jennifer Garcia of Hereford, Xochitl Quiroz of Amarillo, and Amber Quiroz of Amarillo, 1 nephew, Ricardo Quiroz, Jr., of Amarillo, and great-nephew, Lucas Garcia of Hereford.
Missy is preceded in death by her mother, Estella R. Garcia and sister, Pricilla R. Martinez.
In lieu of flowers, the Garcia family asks that memorials be made to Living Water Family Church, 210 Halsell St., Dimmitt, Texas 79027.
The family would like to send a heartfelt appreciation to Country View Living, Samaritan Hospice, and Laura Case for the care and consideration given during this time.
