Micaela "Mickey" De La Cruz, went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 84 on Monday, September 23, 2024, at her home in Dimmitt. A viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 P.M. with a Rosary starting at 6:00 P.M. followed by a Vigil Service with Deacon John Nino officiating at Colonial Family Funeral Home Chapel. The De La Cruz family has entrusted Funeral and Cremation Services to Colonial Funeral home of Dimmitt.

Micaela was born to her loving parents Joaquin and Maria (Reyes) De La Cruz on September 29, 1939, in Mexico. She was a life-long resident of Dimmitt and raised her loving daughter in Dimmitt. She read her bible faithfully and was a member of the Immaculate Conception of Dimmitt.

Micaela always had a strong work ethic and instilled many lessons into her family. She was loved by her community and had a great sense of humor; she had a smile that was contagious and will be cherished by all who knew her. She loved to be on her phone and had a passion for gardening. She loved her plants, especially her geraniums. She enjoyed dancing and listening to music, and she was a phenomenal cook.

Those left to cherish her memories is her loving daughter, Yolanda Ramirez and her husband Adam of Lubbock, Texas; her grandchildren, Andrew Ramirez and his wife Gabby of Lubbock, Texas; her great-grandchildren, A'liana Skye Ramirez, Gabriel Sanchez; her siblings, Hildo De La Cruz of Fort Worth, Texas, Estella Lopez of Dimmitt, Texas, Jake De La Cruz and his wife Andrea of Canyon, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.

Those preceding her in passing are her parents, Joaquin and Maria De La Cruz; her brothers, Javier De La Cruz and Mario Reyes.
