Modesta Lopez, 78, of Dimmitt, Texas, died on Monday, July 06, 2015. Prayer Vigil will be at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Colonial Funeral Home with Deacon John Nino. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Reverend Raj Arockia, officiant. Modesta Salinas was born of February 24, 1937 in Cuero, Texas to Alejandro and Antonia (Gutierrez) Salinas. She married Ruben Lopez on March 7, 1950 in Weslaco, Texas. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Dimmitt, Texas. Modesta had been employed as a custodian with Dimmitt Independent School District for 34 years, before retiring. Her hobby was crocheting. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ruben Lopez, a son, Ruben Lopez III, 2 sisters, and 3 brothers.
