Niel Christian, 66, of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 in Dimmitt.  Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 12:00PM at Gerry's First Place located at 208 SE 4 ^th Street, Dimmitt, Texas.

Niel was born on May 7, 1952 in Raymondville, Texas to John Christian and Norma (Nielsen) Christian.  Niel grew up in Raymondville, Texas and became interested in becoming a volunteer fireman.  He served with various fire departments for the next 45 years.  Niel worked for the Texas State Highway Department in Dimmitt for many years before his retirement.  Niel bought Gerry's First Place and became owner/operator where he enjoyed spending time with his friends and telling stories.  He was a member of the VFW Post 4818 in Hereford where he served as Guard and served as Trustee for District 9.  Niel will be remembered by his love for his family and his willingness to always help others.

Niel is survived by his children, Shawn Christian and Sheila Bright both of Haltom City, TX, parents, John and Norma Christian of Raymondville, TX, sister, Caren Krupala and husband Frank of Raymondville, TX, 4 grandchildren, Sabre Jorden, Hunter Mason, Peyton Bright and Alee Christian, 2 great-grandchildren, Jadyn Jorden and Brandon Jorden, 2 nephews, Kyle (George) Krupala of Raymondville, TX and Camden Krupala of Raymondville, TX.

Niel is preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Christian, maternal grandparents, Pete and Irma Nielsen and paternal grandparents, Rochelle and Carra Christian.
