Olivia Ortiz, 95, of Dimmitt, Texas, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023, in Amarillo, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Celebrant David Contreras and Deacons John Nino and Richard Martinez officiating. Burial to follow at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt, Texas. Viewing will be on Monday, September 4, 2023, from 1:30-7:00 PM and rosary at 5:30 PM at the funeral home.

Olivia was born on October 25, 1927, in Del Rio, Texas, to Salvador and Refugia (Zuniga) Andrade. She has been a resident of Dimmitt, Texas, since 1967. She married the love of her life Natividad Ortiz on December 16, 1949. Olivia worked as a dietician at Plains Memorial Hospital in Dimmitt, Texas, for 25 years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a devoted Catholic, praying the rosary every night and a faithful member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; she was a member of the Guadalupanas and the Quilting Club of Dimmitt. Olivia loved to cook, gardening her plants, especially her roses, playing Spanish Bingo (loteria), listening to Mexican music, especially, mariachi music, and Vicente Fernandez, she loved to dance and in her younger days she enjoyed traveling and was always ready to go somewhere. Olivia's witty personality was loved by many, her family, friends and even her neighbors. She will be missed dearly.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Rosa Crespin and her husband Robert of Amarillo, Texas, Sal Ortiz and his wife Chole Ortiz of Dimmitt, Texas, Eliza Rodriguez and her husband Rocky of Kennedale, Texas, Danny Thomas Ortiz and his wife Roxane of Arlington, Texas, Gustavo Ortiz and his wife Esmie of San Antonio, Texas, and Rebecca Martinez and her husband Jose of Dallas, Texas; 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Nicha Andrade of Del Rio, Texas.

Olivia is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Natividad Ortiz, a son, John Ortiz, and her siblings, Salvador Andrade, Rey Andrade, and Elvira Dominguez.
