Onita Shive, 85, of Amarillo formerly of Dimmitt passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012 in Amarillo. Onita was born December 8, 1926 in Hart, Texas to Edwin and Fannie Shive. She was born on a farm near Hart where most of her fondest memories were made. She lived most of her life in Dimmitt until March of 2006, when she moved to Amarillo. She was at Seville Estates for 5 years, then moved to Plum Creek and was there until her death. She became a member of First Baptist Church of Amarillo in 2006; she enjoyed singing, embroidery, bingo, dominoes, exercise and visiting with friends. She proudly proclaimed that "She was an Amarillo Girl." Onita is survived by one sister-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews, as well as her friends and family at Seville Estates and Plum Creek in Amarillo. She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings.
