Ora Lee "Mama" Ward, 88, of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on July 16, 2016 in Amarillo. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016 in the First Baptist Church of Dimmitt at 2:00PM with Rev. Randy Johnson and Rev. Billy Ray Finch officiating. Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. A family and friend visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5:00PM – 7:00PM in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, located on 809 Butler Dr., Dimmitt, Texas, 79027.

Ora Lee Robinson Ward was born on September 15, 1927 in Paducah Texas to Ernest Robinson and Willie Eva Hancock Robinson.

Ora worked as a housekeeper for many years and a homemaker and caretaker to all her children and grandchildren, but most of all she enjoyed and admired spending time with all her family during family gatherings.

After the death of her late husband, Ora met Kenneth "Kent" Jefferson who became a longtime friend and mate for many years prior to his death in 1993.

Ora is survived by 7 children, Willie Earl Ward of Anton, Texas, Joyce Ann Hood of Amarillo, Texas, Sandra Ward of Dallas, Texas, Dorthy Jean Walker of Amarillo, Texas, Sylvester Ward of Lubbock, Texas, Wanda Sherman of Tulia, Texas and Kirk Ward of Dimmitt, Texas, and 1 sister, Menzola White of Arlington, Texas. She is also survived by 40 grandchildren and a host of Great-grandchildren, Great-Great-grandchildren and Great-Great-Great-grandchildren.

Ora Lee Ward was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Ward Jr., 4 children, Walter Lee Ward, Cecil Ward, Glenda Faye Dozier and Jonnie Mae Ward, 2 sisters, Roxy Jefferson and Earnestine Robinson, 1 brother, Ernest Chance Jr.
