Patti Gonser Hughes, 78, of Amarillo, formally of Dimmitt was welcomed into Heaven on March 27, 2011 in Amarillo. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday at 11:00AM in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel in Dimmitt with Clint Young of the First Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Patti was born on June 25, 1932 in Harper County, OK to Leonard and Ruby Gonser. She grew up in Lazbuddie, TX and graduated high school from Lazbuddie High School. She later owned and operated Patti's Beauty Shop in Friona for many years. She moved to Dimmitt in 1973 and was very active in community activities, especially her involvement in Castro County Cares, where she made caramel popcorn for the military troops. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed until we see her again. She is survived by 3 daughters, Pauletta Lindeman and husband Jim of Pueblo, CO., Renee Doss and husband Kenny of Amarillo, and Jaquita Jones and husband Steve of Key Largo, FL; 1 step-son, Gary Grand and wife Linda of Dimmitt; 6 grandchildren, Lisa Garcia and husband Luis, Lori Ryan and husband Charles, and Lynzy Tyser and husband Kevin all of Pueblo. CO, Kristin Ivy and husband Jonathon of San Clemente, CA, Keenon Doss of Amarillo, and Tara Grand of Dimmitt, 5 great-grandchildren, Hunter Ivy, Brody Garcia, Bryce Ivy, Aubrey Ivy, and Ian Tyser. She is preceded in death by a brother, Doug Gonser, 3 sisters Mary Redfern, Clara Looper, and Dean Broyles.
