Paula Bradford, 67, of Dimmitt passed away on May 12, 2017 in Amarillo, Texas.  Celebration of life memorial service will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. T.C. Broom officiating.  Local arrangements are under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.

Paula (Birdwell) Bradford was born on October 24, 1949 in Dimmitt, Texas to James Kent Birdwell and Mary Jo (Tatum) Birdwell.  Paula grew up in Dimmitt and graduated in 1968 from Dimmitt High School.  She then attended West Texas State University and graduated with a bachelor's degree and later attended Texas Women's University where she received a 2nd degree.  While attending W.T she was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. She was married to Bob Bradford for 25 years and lived in Denton, Texas where they raised their family.   For many years she worked as a paralegal.  Paula was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she often played the piano and was President of the Dimmitt Book Club. The most important things that Paula loved doing was drinking coffee, shopping online, her generosity in willing to always help other people and spending time with her family.

Paula is survived by 1 daughter, Jaime Winters and husband Luke of Amarillo, 1 son, Scott Bradford and girlfriend, Jennifer Carnagey of Albuquerque, NM, mother, Mary Jo Birdwell of Dimmitt, sister, Karen Barron of Austin, TX, brother, Russel Birdwell of Dimmitt, TX, granddaughter, Mallory Winters of Amarillo, TX, nephews, James Barron, Jason Barron, Buddy Birdwell, Joel Birdwell, Ben Birdwell, Mason Birdwell and Rayce Birdwell, nieces, Devonee Ortiz and Macy Birdwell and a host of great-nieces and nephews.

Paula was preceded in death by her father, Kent Birdwell, 2 brothers, Steve Birdwell and Kelly Birdwell.

Memorials may be made to the Rhoads Memorial Library, 103 SW 2nd Street, Dimmitt, TX 79027, First United Methodist Church, 110 SW 3rd Street, Dimmitt, TX or to a favorite charity.
