Petra "Betty" Medrano Montiel, 72, of Hart, Texas passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 in Plainview, Texas. A Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM, October 24, 2020 at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Mullins officiating, burial will follow in the Hart Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23, 2020 at the funeral home from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home.

Betty Montiel was born May 25, 1948 in Bremond, Texas to Ceferino Medrano and Maria (Soto) Medrano. On June 26th 1965 she married her best friend Ben Montiel Sr. Betty Enjoyed being around her great-grandkids.

Those left behind to cherish her memories are her husband, Ben Montiel Sr. of Hart, Texas her children, Susan Montiel of Hart, Texas, Diane Exum and husband Gene Exum of Cimarron, Kansas, Ben Montiel Jr. and Tonya Anderson of Hereford Texas, Reno Montiel and wife Mary Alice Montiel of Lubbock Texas, her brother; Thomas Medrano and wife Sylvia of Ropesville, Texas, her sisters; Lupe Gonzalez and husband Pete of Amarillo, Texas, Rena Lumbrera of Dimmitt, Texas and Thomasa Nino and husband Johnny of Clarendon, Texas,  14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Jesse Medrano Sr. and Frank Medrano and her sister, Janie Garcia.
