Rachel Herrera, 50, of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, in Amarillo.
Rosary will be recited on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 9:30AM at Colonial Funeral Home with Celebration of Life Service following at 10:30AM with Deacon Paul Herrera officiating.   Cremation Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt, Texas.
Rachel was born on September 20, 1973, to Jose Perez and Candelaria (Zamudio) Perez.  She grew up in Dimmitt and graduated from Dimmitt High School in 1994.   Rachel was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan along with the Texas Longhorns and the Arizona Diamondbacks.  Rachel was a very kindhearted individual who loved to cook for family and friends.  No matter what kind of day she was having, she always had a big smile.  She loved listening to Tejano music and being a jokester.  Rachel will be dearly missed and loved by all.
Rachel leaves behind her children, daughter, Samantha Herrera of Amarillo and son, Lorenzo Ortiz of Amarillo along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Alvin Perez.
