Rafael Navarro, 54, of Dimmitt passed away, Monday, October 8, 2012 in Dimmitt. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, October 12, 2012 at the Immaculate Conception of Mary Catholic Church in Dimmitt at 10:00 AM with Rev. Joseph Ravi officiating, burial to follow at Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Dimmitt. Rosary and vigil to be at 6:00 pm on Thursday evening at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Rafael was born June 20, 1958 in McAllen, Texas to Andres, Sr. and Sophia Navarro. He has been a resident of Dimmitt most of his life. He was a truck driver for 20 years. He also worked for Coop Gin for 24 years. His hobbies were all about his family. He enjoyed cook-outs and barbeques with his family. He loved his grandkids and was the family supporter to his brothers and sisters. He was considered a "Family Man", but most of all he loved his family. He is survived by his wife Nancy Navarro of Dimmitt, his parents, Andres, Sr. and Sophia Navarro of Dimmitt; a son Rafael Navarro, Jr. of Amarillo, two daughters, Cindy Swain and Jessica Navarro both of Dimmitt. Four brothers Andres, Jr., Alejandro, Oscar and Sergio Navarro all of Dimmitt; three sisters Maria Reyes, Esmeralda Lopez and Oralia Navarro all of Dimmitt. 11 grandchildren He is preceded in death by his son, Rocky Navarro and by his 2nd wife Juana Navarro.
