Ramiro Martinez Esquivel, 77, of Dimmitt, Texas passed away Thursday, May 21, 2020 in Dimmitt. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Dimmitt at 10:00 AM with Celebrant Raj Arockiaraj Malapady. Services and cremation have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt, Texas. Rosary will be Monday, May 25, 2020 at 6:00 PM and vigil to follow at the funeral home.

Ramiro was born on September 26, 1942 in Robstown, Texas to Amado and Eufemia Esquivel. He came to work in Littlefield, Texas as a migrant worker; where he met his wife Gloria (Martinez) Esquivel. They married on April 27, 1963 and had 4 children. They have been residents of Dimmitt since 1975. Ramiro worked numerous places through-out his life in the Panhandle area. In the 60's and 80's he worked in road construction and in the 70's he worked in Plainview, Texas at Xcel Meat Packing Company. He worked for several irrigation companies as well as independently and owning his own company. He also worked for Jack Hamilton in Brownfield, Texas and Paxton Tire in Dimmitt, Texas. Later in life he enjoyed working as a carpenter where he built the display case and frame with the scroll work for the Virgin of Guadalupe at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Ramiro enjoyed playing the guitar and eating anything sweet; along with playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Gloria Esquivel of Dimmitt, Texas; 2 sons Ramiro Esquivel, Jr. and his wife Debbie of San Benito, Texas and Amado (Corky) Esquivel of Spring, Texas, one daughter Lisa Cuellar and her husband Mike of Amarillo, Texas; 9 grandchildren, Stephanie Esquivel and husband Bobby Navarro, Eric Rodriguez and wife Ashlee Niño all of Dimmitt, Texas, Bianca Esquivel of Dallas, Texas, Alexandria and Tabitha Esquivel of Omaha, Nebraska, Ethan Rodriguez of Amarillo, Texas, Tommy Salazar and wife America of Los Fresnos, Texas, Kiana Cuellar and Jordan Cuellar, 6 great-grandchildren, Baylor, Lukas, Kash and Kameigh all of Dimmitt, Texas and Noah and Damian of Los Fresnos, Texas
Ramiro is preceded in death by his parents, by an infant daughter Adelita Esquivel and 3 brothers Jose, Silvester and Amado, Jr. Esquivel.
