Ramon Rios, 76, of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on Friday, May 15, 2020 in Dimmitt. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2020, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Arockiaraj Malapady, Deacon Richard Martinez, and Deacon John Niño as celebrants with burial following in the Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at 6:30 PM at the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with vigil services to follow.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.

Due to the COVID- 19 mandates, the funeral home is only allowing a maximum of 20 people to be in the funeral home at one time. The Church will allow up to 100 during the mass. Ramon was born on June 19, 1943 in Rodeo, Durango, Mexico to Raul and Paula (Canpa) Rios. He married Antonia Ramos on July 25, 1973, and they have been residents of Dimmitt since 1975. He was a long time member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.  Ramon worked as a ranch hand for Monty Boozer from 1983 to 2010 where he harvested corn, wheat, and cotton while also working as a cowboy. When he retired from being a ranch hand he loved to work garden, spend time with his grandchildren, watching telenovals, drinking Coca Cola, and eating ice-cream or anything sweet.  He especially loved getting ice-cream cones with his grandchildren from McDonald's and eating at Golden Corral.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Antonia Rios, one daughter, Maria A. Martinez and husband Indolfo of Amarillo, TX, 3 sons, Ramon S. Rios of Dimmitt, TX, Raul Rios and Jaime Rios both of Amarillo, TX,  4 sisters, Luz Rios of Juarez, Mexico, Peta Rios, of El Paso, TX  Elva Rios, of Liberal, KS and Concha Rios of Hereford, TX, 2 brothers, Cruz Rios of Hereford, TX and Raul Rios of Rodeo, Durango, Mexico along with 5 grandchildren, Miguel Rios, Francisco Rios, Alex Rios, Raul Martinez and Mia Martinez.

Ramon is preceded in death by his parents, Raul and Paula Rios.
