Ramon Rodriguez, 64, of Amarillo, formerly of Dimmitt, passed away on April 9, 2011 in Amarillo. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 2:00PM at the Immaculate Conception of Mary Catholic Church in Dimmitt with Rev. Lupe Mayorga officiating. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Dimmitt under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 8:30PM at the church. Ramon was born on April 12, 1946 in Los Frenos, TX to Julian and Rosa Rodriguez. He spent most of his life in Dimmitt before moving to Amarillo in 2002. He married Stella Padilla in Dimmitt on Sept. 25, 1970. He was a farmer and a welder. He served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a former member of Immaculate Conception of Mary Catholic Church. He is survived by 3 daughters, Christina Sparks and husband Michael, Crystal Rodriguez and Cristin Rodriguez all of Amarillo, 5 sisters, Elosia Leal and Monce Lopez both of Dimmitt, Martina Lopez of Pampa, Elida Garza of Dimmitt, and Fabian Saldana of Amarillo, 1 brother, Juan Rodriguez of Dimmitt, 5 grandchildren, Jason Sparks, O'livia Ontiveros, Jaden Sparks, Jesse Sparks, and Daniel Ontiveros. Preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
