Ray Aleman, Jr. 59, of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2015 in Dallas. Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Dimmitt with Rev. Ken Keller and Pastor Jonathan Sullivan officiating with burial to follow at Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Prayer service will be Sunday evening at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Ray was born May 11, 1956 to Ramon, Sr. and Maria Lumbrera Aleman in Tulia, Texas. Ray was a resident of Castro County for 45 years. Ray has held many positions within the Dimmitt Police and Sheriff Department, he has been Lieutenant, Deputy Sheriff, Chief of Police, City Marshall for Nazareth, Texas and Constable, having served more than 40 years to the Castro County Law Enforcement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Texas Association of Constables and Peace Officers and the Dimmitt Rotary Club. He married Loretta Vigil on October 6, 1990. He always treated everyone with the utmost respect, never treated anyone different, everyone was equal in his eyes. Ray was very much respected amongst his family, his friends and the community of Dimmitt. He appreciated and loved his fellow co-workers and his community. He was a great storyteller, he loved to fish, hunt, shoot, dancing and most of all enjoyed family gatherings. His family describes him as, patient, kind, strong, courageous, a mentor and coach and how he never met a stranger. Ray kept his faith and fought a good fight, fought to the very end. He is survived by his wife, Loretta Aleman of Dimmitt; three daughters, Puridy Tijerina of Dimmitt, Monique Aleman of Amarillo and Breanna Guardiola of Falls City; a son, Andre Aleman of Dimmitt; two brothers, Benito Aleman of Poteet and Billy Ray Ramos of Pleasanton; one sister, Maria Gonzalez of Sunray; five grandchildren, Kalum Aleman, Brooklyn Catano, Dustin Reyes, Alexi and Christopher Tijerina; two great grandchildren, Jay'ven Reyes and Arianna Rodriguez. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ramon Sr. and Maria Lumbrera Aleman; two sisters, Mary Ann Ruiz and San Juana Aleman; three brothers, Adrian, Frank and Jesus Aleman
